When recruiting for a high level position in a School. Head,
Deputy Head or senior manager let heavy pencil training aid

This is an important choice and it is imperative for the life
and fabric of the School that the strongest applicant with
the correct inter personal skills is appointed. We can help
you clarify this decision. Something which cannot always be
seen through the usual interview process.
By using an interactive observation with one of our actors in
a specially selected scenario. We can play a distressed
colleague or Parent giving the applicant chance to show how
they think on their feet (without prior notice) and have to
make difficult decisions or deal with strong emotions very
quickly and sensitively. The actor will always start the
scene in the same way. Depending on how the candidate deals
with the emotion, the scenes can often have a different
outcome. This scene is played out in front of the interview
panel/Governors as part of the interview process and gives a
strong indication of management style/inter personal skills
and how they refer to the wider team. The actor can then
feedback to the panel after each session. This can often be a
strong indicator to pick the right candidate to suit the
culture of your School.
